Flowering Arch & Curl
Coordinate your whole body.
This exercise combines the movements of the Arch & Curl, the Internal Hip Rotator Release, and the shoulder movements of the Washcloth.
The movement involves the curling and uncurling of the spine, and the opening and closing of the front/back of your body - think of the petals of the flower opening as you roll your arms outwards and open your chest and then closing as you return towards neutral.
This really starts to get your body working as a whole unit rather than as a combination of separate parts, helping with even greater release of areas that are blocking and bracing.
As your skill develops, your body will increasingly work as a ‘biotensegrity structure’, distributing load through the whole body and avoiding hotspots which are becoming overloaded and vulnerable to injury.
